This may be the definitive biography of Kate and her family. It starts back a few generations and goes through their history before she even makes her first appearance. I liked hearing about what her parents and grandparents were like, as well as her extended family, since it shaped her so much. Family was so important to her. Her relationship with Spencer Tracy is still somewhat of a mystery to me, but I think it always will be so I don’t hold that against this book!
