Love by Design

2 stories- Loving Jack and Best Laid Plans. Had hoped to see more of Jackie and Nathan in the 2nd book. Both good, liked the setting of the construction site. Wish there was more in the epilogue of the 2nd- details about her job/company maybe? Who went to jail, etc.

The Disney Touch

The Disney Touch
By Ron Grover

Didn't realize how old the book is until about 2/3 of the way through! Good, lots of numbers and stats thrown at you at times, and quite a bit of repitition chapter to chapter. But overall, interesting and informative. Still, tickets to Disney are way too expensive!!

A Little Magic

A Little Magic
By Nora Roberts

3 stories- Spellbound, Ever After, and In Dreams. All cute, I liked all the characters. I liked that each book was only about the two people. No one else intruded in reality. There were thoughts and conversations about others, but they didn't show up. Only exception was the sorcerer guy in the first book, but I'm not sure how much he counts since he showed up as mist.

My Life

My Life
By Golda Meir
399116699 461p

Moving, witty, very informative. Seemed like she didn't think Israel had ever done anything wrong, though on further thought that makes sense. She was, for quite awhile, the face of Israel and made a lot of decisions. So it's probably good that she looks back and still thinks the decisions were the right ones to make.

The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
The Movie Storybook
9781423103783

A childrens book, so obviously they'd have to leave some things out. But they left a lot out! And without seeing the movie, I don't think the book makes a whole lot of sense. Great photographs, though some surprising choices on those too as there were definitely better photos that I remember from the movie that would have made more sense with the text.

Katharine Hepburn: An Independent Woman

Katharine Hepburn: An Independent Woman

Beautiful pictures, great stories. There were even some stories in here that I hadn't heard before! And I've read quite a bit about Ms. Hepburn, so that was surprising.

Dancing in the Moonlight

Dancing in the Moonlight

Wow. Very moving, sweet story. But not melodramatic or any of the cliches it could have been from the storyline- young woman in the military, loses her leg in combat, comes home to heal and falls in love with the boy next door. I was surprised at how touched I was by this story, wasn't expecting that from a romance novel.

When God Doesn't Make Sense

When God Doesn't Make Sense

Always amazed by this man's writing. Beautiful, simple but elegant, straight to the point with well-thought-out examples and scripture.

Mr. Darcy's Dream

Mr. Darcy's Dream
By Elizabeth Aston
9781416547266 284p

Only a little of the intrigue of Elizabeth Aston's other sequels to 'Pride and Prejudice', so that was nice! Kept it more in the realm of their world, though the resolution of Miss Verney's story was, in my opinion, quite silly. Ms. Aston saying in the interview that she isn't writing sequels seems to just be trying to appease those who think like me about the changes in the subject, characters, etc.

Sloppy Firsts

Sloppy Firsts
By Megan McCafferty

Way preoccupied with sex. The only thing that exists in her life is boys, which is sad. Good writing, and I genuinely liked all the characters. I am wondering about Marcus though. If he was such friends with Heath and always over the house, close enough to spy on Jessica and Hope, I would have thought he wouldn't be such an exotic person to Jessica. I think she was using him as the stand-in for Heath, who she said she had hoped would look at her as a friend some day, not just his kid sisters friend.
